Iraqi Marshes
This story made the mighty Longmont Times-Call the other day. It's a great, positive story on those marshes.
The Boston Globe covers it too.
Read them both. Bangkok's paper tells the story. In 2001 it was predicted these marshlands were dead and gone. However, they've been returning ever since the fall of Sadaam and were at 50% of 1970 range this spring.
Boston's paper also tells the story (via AP), but keeps the focus on reminding the reader that life sucks there for the people (poverty and danger) and that the marshes are far from being what they were.
But wait - let's see what Reuters has to say. Doom, doom.
